I Love Jesus, and I Believe!

I found out on Sunday that a lovely man in our church passed away. It was a shock to my family and to me, and it really affected me. He was such a genuinely nice man, who always thought of others first. Almost every Sunday, you could find him greeting people at the door with a smile on his face and a church bulletin in his hand. He always recognized the newcomers.

I had difficulty getting through our worship service on Sunday; I was really kind of a mess. The tears just kept sneaking out of the corners of my eyes. Our Pastor talked about it in church, and he reminded me that our friend was undoubtedly in Heaven, and I knew that. I honestly believe that this man is laughing and enjoying time with Jesus right now. That’s a beautiful picture!

That’s really the best part of believing in my God. He says it over and over again in the Bible. If I believe in Him, I will have eternal life with Him in heaven. John 3:16, one of the most well-known verses says this: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It is a promise that I believe in!

This week, Michelle and I are blessed to be able to share a message about “believing” at Sun Prairie Women’s Christmas Event at Sun Prairie Baptist Church in Salem, SD. We are so excited! We’ll be focusing on the story of the birth of Jesus and how Mary and Joseph really did believe in what God promised them, and how we can use that as a living example to help us when our belief might be wavering. I’ve really enjoyed taking a deeper dive into the story of Jesus’ birth and really pondering what it means to believe.

Thank you all for continuing to read our blogs. We appreciate your faithfulness, and we truly believe in our women’s ministry Unfinished Women. We feel blessed to share with you here on our website and through Facebook and Instagram. We are also thankful that we have opportunities to share with women in person this month at a few different Christmas events. I believe that God is doing big things in the hearts of women here in South Dakota!

God is good, friends! Even though my heart is still hurting as I will miss my friend from church, I believe that I will see him again one day!

Love you, friends.

Julie
