A Summer of Gratitude: Fireworks

Do you ever wonder how photographers capture pictures of fireworks? Those bombs bursting in air elude my shutter every time. All I get is the blur effect from the smoke left behind searing flash of light that bursts from the sky a second before I hear the explosion. Still, fireworks on the 4th of July is just about one of my favorite times each year! I am so grateful for the freedom of democracy, free speech, and the freedom to pursue my own dreams.

God gave us free will. Sometimes I wonder why, since God made us in His image to serve Him. Yet, God has given me everything, and all I want to do is serve Him. God wants us to pursue a relationship with Him. Like my curiosity about taking pictures of fireworks, my explanation about why God gave us free will is probably hazy, but God's purpose is crystal clear. God gave his son so that we could be cleansed by the blood of Christ and live forever! For this, I am grateful.

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love."

Want more? I guess you're going to have to get into scripture. What a great reason to hang out at the beach! I hope you enjoy your summer read!

Best,

Michelle
