I can hardly believe it is May! It is the month of May Day, Cinco De Mayo, Mother’s Day, graduations, Memorial Day, and the beginning of summer! What a wonderful month! We are already seven days into the month of May, so the rest of the month will fly by, I’m sure.
Have you seen the tulips? They are beautiful! The leaves on the trees are returning. Lilacs will begin blooming soon, and their glorious smell will fill the air! It really is spring!
Spring means rebirth. Trees, grass, and flowers are coming to life again after the long, hard winter. Baby animals are being born. Spring is a time of new beginnings for nature and for us as well. Graduates will be starting new schools or new jobs, and for many teachers and students, we’re beginning summer break! It’s just an amazing season!
Some verses I shared recently on Facebook say this about spring: “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12). It is a beautiful representation of spring–I love how the verse refers to spring as “the season of singing.” Do you hear the birds singing outside? If you haven’t heard them, I challenge you to listen for them. It’s really a beautiful symphony!
I have a co-worker who has goats, and he and his family invited a few of us out for supper, a piano recital, and to see the goats. It was such a beautiful evening, and boy, those baby goats were adorable. They are tiny, and most of them are white, but a few have spots of brown or patches or brown here and there. Many of them bounced around or ran around getting into mischief, just like baby goats should! This was the second year we were able to go out and meet the new baby goats, and it has come to symbolize spring for me!
Also, this spring, my family was blessed with a new baby born in April! I have a new great-niece in Arizona. I guess that just means I need to make a trip down south to meet this new baby!
God has blessed me with so much beauty all around. There’s new life everywhere I look! But there can be new life within all of us as well. When you believe in Jesus and live for Him, you will have new life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 talks about this new life: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” What a beautiful promise.
Thank you, Lord, for spring and all of the new life you’ve given us!
Thanks for reading, friends!
Love,
Julie
