What's in a name?

My name, Michelle, Means "Gift from God." So I told my dad, "Did you know my name means 'gift from God'?" He said, "Did you know your last name means grave digger?" Well, I don't know where he was going with that one, but we both laughed and laughed... Still, my dad agreed; I am a gift from God.
Then, I texted Julie and asked her what her name means. She said, "youthful spirit." She is a youthful spirit! I even use "jewels" as a nickname for Julie, which means something precious. She is a precious friend to me. (...and ministry partner)
Then, I got to thinking about all of the names God goes by. When I was young, I learned
that Yahweh is meant to be breathed. "Yah" is the breath in, and "weh" is the breath out, meaning the breath of God or I am who I am.
Elohim means God or the creator.
El Shaddai means God is sufficient.
Adonai means master or Lord.
Jehovah Jireh is the God who provides.
Jehovah Rapha is the God who heals.
Jesus is Immanuel, which means God is with us.
What's in a name? Every name is meaningful, but there's power in God's name. When you are sick or when you are tired or when you need comfort or when you want to praise or when you need God to surround you, just say His name. Lately, I've been saying His name a lot.
So, tell us...what does your name mean?
Yours in Christ,
Michelle
