Christmas is coming! The air is filled with excitement and anticipation as we prepare to celebrate this joyous season. This year, Julie and I are thrilled to announce that we will be sharing a heartfelt message titled “Unbroken Joy” during our highly anticipated women’s ministry event.
For those of you who may not have had the opportunity to attend this event in the past, allow me to share a little insight into what you can expect: Julie and I take this time to open our hearts and share our personal experiences, illustrating how God has profoundly worked in our lives. We believe in the power of vulnerability, and through our stories, we create a space where women can come together to connect, support one another, and share the transformative word of God.
Now, there is a common misconception that Christians are somehow not sinners, that we live lives free from mistakes and shortcomings--not true. Christians are not perfect beings; only Jesus Christ is perfect. Some people might see Julie and me involved in ministry and may notice our smiles, leading them to believe that our lives are nothing short of rays of sunshine. While there are certainly moments of joy and blessings—thanks to Jesus—this isn’t the whole picture.
The reality is that Julie and I, just like everyone else. We regularly face setbacks, heartbreaks, and feelings of loss or defeat. There are times when we feel overwhelmed by sadness and struggle, experiencing tough times that can weigh heavily on our hearts. So, how do we navigate through these challenging moments? Jesus.
Through our experiences, we have come to understand that joy is ultimately a choice we make, even in the face of adversity. Yes, there are times when we feel broken and lost, but we invite you to come to our event and discover the incredible truth about how God views us and the profound reason why He sent His son, Jesus, into the world and how his birth, death, and resurrection represent the unbroken joy of the Lord!
Psalm 30:11-12 calls out to me:
"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever."
David's leads by showing his service to God. Like David, Unfinished Women looks for ways to lift our voices to God, to demonstrate the power of His unfailing love. This verse beautifully captures the essence of our journey toward unbroken joy. Even in our darkest moments, God has the power to turn our sorrow into joy. Our struggles do not define us, but they can lead us to a deeper understanding of God’s love and grace.
We are excited to host an old-fashioned Christmas party that promises to be filled with warmth, laughter, and community. Attendees can look forward to a delightful array of food, engaging activities, and, most importantly, fellowship rooted in faith. And let’s not forget about our spectacular hot chocolate bar, which will be a highlight of the evening, offering a variety of toppings and flavors to warm your hearts and spirits!
We genuinely hope you will join us for this special event, as we explore what it truly means to experience “Unbroken Joy.” Together, we will celebrate the season, uplift one another, and deepen our understanding of the joy that can be found in Christ, even amidst life’s challenges. Come ready to connect, share, and be inspired!
