Such a time as this...

I don't know how God knows what we need to be prepared to do hard things, but He does-even if what we need to do isn't something we like.

Today, I had to do a hard thing. My heart was broken, but I knew all of the public relations training I had undergone had prepared me for just such a time as this. So, I volunteered to make a difficult speech in church today. So many times, I have watched my Pastor be vulnerable in front of a congregation, and I have thought, "I couldn't do that." Today, I did that.

When Esther was contemplating the risks of approaching her King, Mordecai said, “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14). So each one of us has a calling and moment that God has designed for our purpose. (With a little support from my ministry partner, Julie. Thank you, Julie.)
